The Evenson Power Power Transformer adjusts voltage levels between generation and distribution networks across medium- and high-voltage power systems.
Power transformers are the backbone of every modern electricity network. They step voltage up for efficient long-distance transmission and step it back down for safe distribution to substations, industrial plants, data centres and end users. Evenson Power power transformers are engineered and certified under our own name and built to international standards, combining proven electromagnetic design with premium materials to deliver dependable, efficient and long-lasting performance in the most demanding power-system applications. Whether you are energising a new substation, expanding a mining or data-centre load, or integrating renewable generation, our transformers are designed to keep your network running reliably for decades.
A power transformer is a static electrical device that transfers energy between two or more circuits through electromagnetic induction. Alternating current in the primary winding creates a changing magnetic flux in a laminated steel core; this flux induces a voltage in the secondary winding. Because the voltage ratio follows the turns ratio of the windings, a transformer can raise or lower voltage with very little loss. With no moving parts, a well-designed power transformer routinely operates at efficiencies above 99%, silently converting voltage levels twenty-four hours a day for its entire service life.
Evenson Power manufactures the full range of power-transformer technologies so the right solution can be matched to every site:
Our power-transformer programme spans 300 kVA to 240 MVA in base capacity, with voltage classes up to 750 kV — including 750, 500, 400, 330, 220, 110, 66, 33 and 11 kV systems — in both single-phase and three-phase configurations. Each transformer is custom-engineered to the customer’s exact voltage ratio, vector group, impedance, cooling class and tap range, ensuring a precise fit to the network rather than a generic off-the-shelf compromise.
Evenson Power power transformers serve generation plants, transmission and distribution substations, mining and metals operations, oil & gas facilities, data centres and crypto-mining sites, renewable-energy (solar and wind) interconnection, and heavy industry. Their robust design makes them equally suited to harsh outdoor environments and tightly controlled indoor electrical rooms.
Every transformer is designed, manufactured and tested to IEEE/ANSI C57, IEC 60076, CSA and U.S. DOE efficiency requirements. Routine, type and special tests — ratio, winding resistance, no-load and load loss, impedance, insulation, partial discharge, temperature-rise and impulse withstand — are carried out before dispatch, with full test certificates supplied for each unit.
Choosing the correct transformer involves more than nameplate kVA. Evenson Power engineers work with you to define the primary and secondary voltages, vector group and phase configuration, percentage impedance (which governs fault levels and parallel operation), the required tap range for voltage regulation, and the cooling class suited to your ambient conditions and load profile. For utility and large industrial buyers we also offer loss-capitalisation studies, comparing no-load and load losses against your energy tariff so that the lowest total-cost-of-ownership design — not simply the lowest purchase price — is selected. This consultative approach ensures the transformer integrates cleanly with switchgear, protection schemes and the wider network from day one.
A power transformer typically runs continuously for 25 to 40 years, so even a fraction of a percent of additional loss compounds into significant energy cost over its lifetime. Evenson Power designs meet or exceed DOE 2016 and IEC efficiency classes, using premium grain-oriented or amorphous core steel, optimised winding geometry and high-grade insulation to minimise both core and copper losses. Lower losses also mean less waste heat, smaller cooling requirements and a reduced carbon footprint — advantages that matter increasingly to data-centre, mining and renewable operators managing large, always-on loads.
Each transformer ships with detailed installation drawings, a test report and a commissioning checklist. Oil-immersed units are supplied with the appropriate fittings — conservator, Buchholz relay, pressure-relief device, oil-level and temperature gauges — while dry-type units arrive ready for indoor mounting. Routine maintenance is straightforward: periodic oil sampling and dissolved-gas analysis for liquid-filled designs, visual inspection of bushings and connections, and verification of cooling-fan and tap-changer operation. With proper care, an Evenson Power transformer delivers decades of trouble-free service, and our support team is available for spare parts, retrofits and on-site assistance throughout its life.
Beyond standard ratings, Evenson Power supplies special-purpose designs: low-noise units for urban substations, seismic-qualified and offshore designs, traction and rectifier transformers, and configurations optimised for solar farms, wind interconnection and large crypto-mining facilities. Optional features include online dissolved-gas and temperature monitoring, smart sensors for predictive maintenance, natural-ester fluid for enhanced fire safety and biodegradability, and stainless-steel tanks for corrosive environments.
As your single-source partner, Evenson Power delivers custom-engineered transformers, transparent quality documentation, competitive lead times and global after-sales support — all under one trusted name.
