Introduction

Electric wire is the everyday workhorse of electrical installations, carrying current within buildings, panels, fixtures, and equipment. Evenson Power manufactures a comprehensive range of single-core building wires and flexible cords engineered for safety, durability, and easy installation.

From the fixed wiring concealed in walls and conduits to the flexible cords that connect appliances and machinery, Evenson Power electric wire is built with high-purity copper conductors and carefully formulated insulation to meet the electrical and mechanical demands of modern installations.

What Is Electric Wire

Electric wire generally refers to a single insulated conductor, or a flexible multi-strand cord, used for the wiring of buildings, control panels, lighting, and appliances. Unlike heavy power cables, electric wire is optimized for routing within conduits, trunking, and equipment, where flexibility, insulation quality, and ease of termination matter most. It is the most widely used cable product in any installation, present in every circuit from the main panel to the smallest light fitting.

Evenson Power offers both rigid building wire with solid or stranded copper conductors and highly flexible cords built from fine-wire bundles, covering everything from final-circuit wiring to appliance connections and internal panel wiring. By producing the full spectrum of conductor classes and insulation types, Evenson Power lets electricians and panel builders source every wire they need, in every color and rating, from a single dependable brand.

  • Single-core building/fixture wire
  • Flexible connecting cords (fine-stranded)
  • Solid and stranded copper conductors
  • Rated for fixed installation and equipment wiring

Construction

Evenson Power electric wire is built around annealed high-conductivity copper conductors, available as solid wire for fixed wiring or as fine-stranded flexible classes for cords and panel wiring. The copper is drawn and annealed to ensure low resistance and excellent flexibility.

Insulation is extruded directly over the conductor in PVC for general-purpose wiring or in low-smoke zero-halogen (LSZH) compound where fire safety is critical. Color-coded insulation supports easy identification and code compliance, and flexible cords add an outer PVC or LSZH sheath where required for mechanical protection.

  • Conductor: annealed electrolytic copper (Class 1, 2, 5, 6)
  • Insulation: PVC or low-smoke zero-halogen (LSZH)
  • Color-coded for phase, neutral, and earth identification
  • Flexible cords: fine-wire bundle with optional outer sheath
  • Single and multi-core flexible formats

Voltage Rating and Sizes

Evenson Power electric wire is rated for the low-voltage circuits found throughout buildings and equipment, with reference designs covering the common 300/300 V, 300/500 V, and 450/750 V ratings. Conductor sizes span the fine sections used in lighting and electronics through the larger sizes used for sub-circuits and feeders.

Standardized harmonized types such as H05V-K, H07V-K, H03VV-F, and H05VV-F are produced for flexible and building wiring, giving designers familiar, interchangeable references.

  • Voltage ratings: 300/300 V, 300/500 V, 450/750 V
  • Sizes: 0.5 mm² to 95 mm² (approx. 20 AWG–4/0)
  • Harmonized types: H05V-K, H07V-K, H03VV-F, H05VV-F, H05Z-K, H07Z-K
  • Solid and flexible conductor classes

Key Features and Benefits

Evenson Power electric wire is engineered for safe, reliable, long-term service in fixed and flexible applications alike. High-purity copper keeps resistance and heating low, which improves energy efficiency and allows the wire to run cool at its rated load, while carefully selected insulation resists heat, abrasion, and ageing across many years of service.

LSZH options protect life and equipment in fire conditions by emitting minimal smoke and no corrosive halogen gases, a critical advantage in occupied buildings, transit systems, and data centers where evacuation visibility and equipment survival matter. Consistent insulation thickness and reliable color-coding speed up installation and inspection, helping projects pass first time and stay compliant with local wiring codes.

  • High-conductivity copper for low losses
  • Durable, age-resistant PVC or LSZH insulation
  • Flame-retardant; LSZH options for low-smoke safety
  • Excellent flexibility for easy routing and termination
  • Color-coded for fast, compliant identification
  • Long service life in fixed and mobile use

Applications

Evenson Power electric wire is used wherever circuits are wired and equipment is connected. Building wire serves the fixed wiring of homes, offices, and commercial premises in conduit and trunking. Flexible cords connect appliances, power tools, lighting fixtures, and machinery, while fine flexible wire handles internal panel and control wiring.

  • Building and conduit wiring for homes and commercial premises
  • Lighting and fixture connections
  • Appliance, tool, and equipment cords
  • Control panel and switchgear internal wiring
  • Earthing/grounding conductors (green-yellow)
  • General-purpose low-voltage circuits

Standards and Testing

Evenson Power electric wire is manufactured and tested to internationally recognized standards governing conductor resistance, insulation thickness and quality, voltage withstand, and flame performance. Every design is verified for safe operation across its rated temperature and voltage.

Compliance follows IEC, BS, UL, and harmonized (HD) frameworks appropriate to the wire type, ensuring confidence and interchangeability in any installation.

  • IEC 60227 / IEC 60228 (PVC wires and conductors)
  • IEC 60245 (rubber/flexible) where applicable
  • BS 6004 / BS EN 50525 building and flexible wire
  • UL 83 (THHN/THWN) and UL 758 appliance wire references
  • Conductor resistance, insulation, HV, and flame tests

Installation and Handling

Electric wire is installed by pulling into conduit, trunking, or equipment, observing fill, bend, and temperature limits to protect the insulation. Evenson Power wire is supplied in clearly marked coils and reels for easy dispensing and length control.

Correct termination, the use of appropriate ferrules or lugs on stranded conductors, and adherence to local wiring codes ensure a safe and durable installation. Color-coding should be respected throughout for safety and compliance.

  • Respect conduit fill and minimum bend radius
  • Install above the minimum handling temperature
  • Use correct ferrules/lugs on stranded conductors
  • Follow color-coding and local wiring codes
  • Avoid nicking the conductor when stripping

Quality Assurance & Testing

Evenson Power building wire is produced from high-conductivity electrolytic copper drawn and annealed to deliver consistent, low-resistance conductors. Throughout manufacture the conductor diameter and resistance are monitored, and the PVC insulation is extruded to a controlled wall thickness and continuously spark-tested to detect any pinholes or voids before the wire is spooled.

Each production lot is sampled for conductor resistance, insulation thickness and tensile properties, insulation resistance, and high-voltage withstand. The PVC compound is verified for flame-retardant behaviour, heat resistance, and ageing performance so that the finished wire reliably meets its temperature rating in service. Colour coding and surface printing of size, voltage rating, and standard markings are checked for legibility and durability.

Test reports are available on request, and every reel is labelled with conductor size, insulation type, length, and batch number to give installers and inspectors complete traceability.
